The second edition of Cairo Cinema Days from 23 - 30 April will host entries from Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.
The second edition of Cairo Cinema Days (Ayam El Qahera El Cinema’eya) will be held from 23 – 30 April and will host a curated collection of entries from Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. Film screenings will be held in downtown Cairo at Karim Cinema and Cimatheque, as well as Zamalek Cinema.
Malak Makkar, Manager for Cairo Cinema Days, said the film festivals aim is to highlight Arab independent films that are not usually very accessible to the Egyptian audience.”
The festival will screen 34 films of various genres including fiction, documentaries and short movies, according to Malak. The festival is organised by Zawya Cinema, a movement for art-house cinema.
In addition to featuring an array of recent productions, the festival also includes panel discussions, workshops and Q&A sessions with filmmakers in attendance.
