A host of international and regional celebrities descended on Cairo to attend the 39th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) currently underway from November 21 – 30 at the Cairo Opera House and other venues in the city.
Regional and international stars spotted on the red carpet included Hossam ElHussieny, Injy El Mokadem, Hana Shiha, Sabry, Elizabeth Hurley, Darin Haddad and Ahmed Helmy.
CIFF President Magda Wassef denounced the Arish attack in North Sinai on Friday and assured that the festival programme will continue and will remain unchanged and unaffected against any terror attacks.
Cairo International Film Festival opened with The Mountain Between Us directed by Palestinian Hany Abu-Assad, and featuring the British actors Kate Winslet and Idris Elba.
