The 2020/21 LaLiga football season is set to hit the screens from mid-September.
French TV channel Canal+ has renewed its sub-Saharan African broadcasting rights deal with Spanish football league La Liga.
The Vivendi-owned broadcaster will offer coverage of the league in sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar and Mauritius in a four-season renewal.
Apart from La Liga, Canal+ also holds rights in the region to broadcast The UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, the English Premier League, and Italy’s Serie A.
Commenting on the deal, Melcior Soler, Director of the La Liga audiovisual department, said: “We are pleased to bring French-speaking fans of LaLiga another exciting way to discover the competition in Sub – Saharan Africa while extending our successful partnership with Canal+. These are important steps to continuing our global growth together with a historic partner who has broadcast our games in this territory for years.”
