Canon Middle East is set to establish a new company in Qatar with Salam Technology, its existing imaging solutions distribution partner. The new company will strengthen Canons in-country presence in the region and demonstrates Canons commitment to operating closer to customers and meet customers demands through diversifying its business offering. The company will accelerate Canons growth in the rapidly evolving Qatari market.
Once established, the new company will provide Qatari customers the opportunity to receive direct advice on products and services from Canon professionals. The variety of solutions available to the market will span from imaging needs to office solutions and managed print services.
Anurag Agrawal, Managing Director of Canon Middle East, said: We continue to invest in strengthening our country presence in this strategically important region in order to realise our ambition to become market leader in imaging solutions in the Middle East. Building on our close relationship with Salam Technology, we believe that this new strategic step will enable us to be closer to our customers by enhancing our presence in Qatar and continuing to deliver excellence in imaging and printing products and services.
Mahmoud El Deeb, Managing Director Salam Technology, explained: We are extremely excited about the huge potential that this new company with Canon will provide. The new company will help our current and future customers grow their own businesses, through our excellent pre- and post-sales support. With this new structure in place, we will be better positioned to support and meet our customers needs.
Salam Technology will continue to manage its existing customer relationships for Canon for the next few months, during the transition period while the new company is being set up. The new company will focus on Business Imaging and Production Printing products and solutions and it is expected to begin trading towards the end of 2014. Salam Studio will continue to be the distribution partner for all of Canons Consumer Imaging in Qatar.
Following the successful development of Canon Emirates, Canon Middle Easts direct operation in the UAE, this strategic step will allow Canon to further expand its offerings across the Qatari market building on the established customer base of Salam Technology. Salams strong local presence and proven track-record will ensure that Canon is providing high quality, technologically advanced products required across all industries.
The new company in Qatar will operate from Doha City and report to Canon Middle East, which will continue in its role as a Regional Sales Organisation for the Middle East and North and West Africa regions.
