As part of the agreement, audiences in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand will gain access to all three seasons of 'Shtisel,' while 'Fire Dance' will be accessible in these three countries along with Canada.
ChaiFlicks, the dedicated streaming platform for Jewish content, has secured the rights to all three seasons of Yes Studios‘ series Shtisel and the studio’s drama series Fire Dance. Season One of Shtisel is set to debut on ChaiFlicks in the US, Australia, and New Zealand on December 14, while Fire Dance is scheduled to premiere on the streaming service in the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada in early 2024.
In a statement, Neil Friedman and Bill Weiner, co-founders of ChaiFlicks, said: “Ori Elon, Yehonatan Indursky and the team at yes assembled a phenomenal ensemble cast and created a global phenomenon with Shtisel and Fire Dance and Rama Burshtein-Shai’s first foray into television was one of the most anticipated Israeli dramas of the last decade.”
Shtisel delves into the lives of the Shtisel family—a close-knit ultra-Orthodox family in Jerusalem. The series provides a perspective into the daily lives and loves of the ‘Haredi’ society. Ori Elon and Yehonatan Indursky, the creators of Shtisel, have crafted a narrative that has become a global phenomenon, produced by Abot Hameiri Barkai and yesTV.
Sharon Levi, Managing Director of Yes Studios, added: “Shtisel has become an iconic series, beautifully portraying a unique way of life through engaging characters and involving storylines. We are so pleased that it has found a perfect new home, alongside the incredible and cinematic series Fire Dance, and that both titles will be made available to the growing ChaiFlicks subscriber base around the world.”
Fire Dance, the inaugural TV series by Israeli filmmaker Rama Burshtein-Shai, unfolds as a coming-of-age story within a tight-knit ultra-orthodox religious sect. The release notes that lead actor Yehuda Levy was honoured with the Best Actor award at the 2022 Series Mania Festival, where the show premiered.
