The first Cinematic Innovation Summit will take place in Dubai on December 5 and 6, 2013 at the Atlantis, The Palm, in association with DIFF, Centre for New Cinema and Naseba. Dedicated to the future of cinematic innovation, the summit features an impressive line-up of speakers from both technical and creative sides of the film industry.
Shivani Pandya, Managing Director of DIFF commented on the summit: We see the Cinematic Innovation Summit as an extension of what we are doing at DIFF. The festival encompasses various aspects of filmmaking with sales and marketing platform, distribution platform, co-productions, Dubai Film Market, and now we go a step further and add innovation. The main objective of this summit is to provide a common platform for the key players of cinema around the world to come together for exchange of ideas.

Speaking through a conference call from Seattle, UAS, JB Davis, President of Centre for new Cinema joined said: The summit is a one-of-its-kind event that brings together well-known Hollywood names to Dubai for new ideas for future innovation.
He added that business implications of technological opportunities in the future will be discussed, with emphasis on co-productions and how they can be made into commercially successful business models.
Dubai Studio City is a real presence for filmmakers around the world, we bring them here to experience for themselves, what Dubai and the Arab film industry has to offer, he added.
Nicholas Watson, Managing Director, Naseba said: The four key pillars in this summit are vision, technology, finance and commericalisation. Through this summit we are facilitating a knowledge exchange, business exchange and building of infrastructure networks for Arab cinema, Asian cinema and Indian cinema. The idea is also to encourage co-productions and to have a better understanding of what external markets have to offer and how to make the best of resources for the benefit of everyone.
