Cinépolis is set to launch what it claims is one of the world’s biggest cinemas in Dubai’s Meydan One Mall by the second half of 2020.
The near 10,000 sq m Cinépolis will have 21 screens capable of hosting more than 3,000 moviegoers at any given moment.
The Mexican cinema brand promises to bring its most technologically-advanced screens to the UAE, including the immersive 4D E-Motion, plus the IMAX-rivalling Macro XE, some covering more than 170 sq m of screen space.
Commenting on the launch, Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, Vice President of Meydan Malls, Meydan Group, said in a press statement: Were very excited to be bringing the first-ever Cinépolis movie theatre to Dubai.
“Cinépolis immersive and futuristic cinematic experiences perfectly demonstrate just how far retail concepts have grown and advanced in the region, and we couldnt be prouder to be leading this exciting evolution.
Cinépolis already has theatres in Bahrain and Oman, with six due to open in Saudi Arabia soon. The Mexican cinema chain is popular in Latin America and this will be its the first launch of the UAE.
