Bagchee will oversee CNBC’s business operations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
CNBC has appointed Deep Bagchee as the new President of CNBC International, effective immediately. Reporting to CNBC President KC Sullivan, Bagchee will oversee the network’s international business operations across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, and will divide his time between London and Singapore.
Bagchee comes to CNBC from ITV, where he served as Chief Product Officer, leading product strategy and launching the company’s on-demand streaming service. He succeeds John Casey, who last year stepped down from the post after nearly three decades at the network.
Before ITV, he held the position of Chief Product Officer at The Economist and was Senior Vice President of Product and Technology at CNBC, based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. In that role, he managed CNBC’s technology, product and design teams.
Speaking about the appointment, KC Sullivan said: “Deep’s experience and expertise in news media combined with his ability to strategically identify and grow new audiences while maintaining brand identity, will be a huge asset to our international business. I’m pleased to welcome Deep back and look forward to working with him to further cement CNBC’s position as the global leader in business news.”
Bagchee added: “I’m thrilled to return to CNBC at what is an exciting and transformative time for the media industry. I’m looking forward to working with the talented international team as we innovate to become increasingly essential to our audiences and serve those interested in markets and global business news as well as financial wellbeing content.”
