The new agreement will enable partners, Collins Aerospace and Inmarsat to enhance the in-flight customer offering through ARINCDirect.
Collins Aerospace will work with Inmarsat to offer Jet ConneX (JX) high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi to business jet operators.
The new agreement will see Collins Aerospace, a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) for the commercial airline and government market segments globally, strengthen its relationship with Inmarsat further.
Through this new VAR arrangement, Collins Aerospace ? which was created in 2018 by bringing together UTC Aerospace Systems and Rockwell Collins ? will work with Inmarsat to improve the in-flight experience for its JX customers.
JX provides customers with onboard internet services as well as improved data transfer between the aircraft and operations teams on the ground. With better access to tools and data, the company offers customers immediate and comprehensive support. The JX service is offered as part of Collins? ARINCDirect solution.
Speaking about the agreement, David Poltorak, Vice President, Business and Government Aviation Services for Collins Aerospace said: ?By directly offering Inmarsat?s JX high-speed internet services, combined with our connectivity experience and our support, we?ll be able to take our customer value proposition to the next level. We have been a Level 1 distributor of Inmarsat?s SwiftBroadband for many years. Now, as a Level 1 VAR of JX, we can continue working collaboratively with Inmarsat to provide our customers with top-line support and tools.?
Philip Balaam, President of Inmarsat Aviation, added: ?Since entering commercial service two years ago, Jet ConneX has quickly established itself as the world?s leading in-flight Wi-Fi solution for business aviation. Collins Aerospace has been an important part of that journey and we are delighted to now expand our relationship. As a Level 1 VAR for Jet ConneX, they will work directly with us to build on the service?s success and enhance their customer offering through ARINCDirect.?
