The survey findings illustrate that high-quality video is becoming a vital asset for organisations aiming to engage customers, investors, and employees.
Tata Comms Media has released new research that demonstrates the increasing importance global enterprises place on professional quality video and live streaming as elements in corporate communications. The ‘Rise and Rise of Video and Live Streaming in the Enterprise’ survey reveals that 86% of companies believe corporate live-streamed events must surpass standard online meeting quality (for example, Zoom or Teams call), with a substantial proportion asserting that professional-grade production is non-negotiable.
Tata Comms Media commissioned Sapio Research to conduct a survey of 300 major US and UK companies across finance, technology, manufacturing, healthcare and other sectors. The report highlights a growing demand for broadcast-quality video among key stakeholder groups in major enterprises. In fact, nearly two-thirds (65%) of respondents indicated that they would forgo live streaming critical events than compromise on broadcast-grade quality. This sentiment reflects the elevated standards in video production required for modern enterprise communications.
The survey findings illustrate that high-quality video is becoming a vital asset for organisations aiming to engage customers, investors, and employees. A powerful 89% of respondents note that their stakeholders now expect live-streamed events, such as product launches, earnings calls, and customer conferences, to meet broadcast quality standards. Further, 84% of enterprises would only partner with a live video provider with trusted broadcast expertise, emphasising the need for reliability and flawless execution.
Commenting on the survey’s results, Dhaval Ponda, Vice President and Global Media Head at Tata Communications, said: “Our research underscores that the stakes are high for enterprises looking to leverage video to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Companies recognise that broadcast-quality video enhances credibility and enables more impactful engagement with key audiences.”
While 43% of companies still manage video production in-house, those outsourcing to professional agencies or production companies are more likely to achieve broadcast-quality results. Sixty percent of companies that outsource report their video quality meets desired standards, compared with just 36% of those relying solely on in-house teams – highlighting the value of specialised external resources for high-quality output.
“The findings reveal just how crucial video and live streaming are to the future of enterprise communication,” notes Ponda. “The data shows a clear shift towards increased investment in the production and delivery of video content that meets the very highest professional standards. Driven by the need to better reach both internal and external audiences, enterprises are leveraging video and live streaming to elevate communications, drive sales, and improve brand visibility.”
With this clear trend toward professional-quality video, enterprises are increasingly investing in media services to meet high expectations. Tata Comms Media supports this evolution by offering solutions like cloud production and delivery, low-latency IP video distribution, 5G-aided remote live streaming set-ups, and other media services, empowering enterprises to deliver compelling video content to diverse audiences.
