Music streaming platform Deezer has appointed industry veteran Mark Abou Jaoude as new Head of Content, Artist Marketing and Label Relations for Turkey and the MENA region.
Under the new role, Jaoude will work closely with both artists and company partners to help Deezer strengthen its relationship with the local music industry.
Jaoude, who has been in the industry for the past 15 years, started his career with a leading radio station in his native Lebanon. These included DJ, Programming Director and Production Manager roles. In 2014, he arrived in the UAE and spent six years at Anghami where he was responsible for artist marketing campaigns.
Commenting on his new role, Jaoude said: “Music has always been a big part of my life and working in the industry has allowed me to see the evolution in the MENA region. I know what fans expect from the homegrown talent and how local artists can best engage with them. I’m looking forward to making Deezer the platform of choice for both artists and their fans to connect with each other.”
