Deltatre delivered a complex data and graphic solution that included official printouts, video walls, and other operations on-venue, against an incredibly tight deadline, said Gilles Mas, President of Global Football at Deltatre.
Deltatre, a global sports media technology provider, has announced that its Forge platform was selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to power its digital properties, in a move that will enable the body to distribute content and future-proof its fan engagement strategy.
CAF selected Forge, Deltatres sport-focused content management system powering major online platforms in the industry, to underpin the official launch of a new website and mobile applications in support of the Total Africa Cup of Nations, which concludes July 19.
The deployment of this solution means that Forge now powers four of the largest football online platforms in the world, including FIFA, UEFA and AFC.
Following the successful migration to Forge, CAF and Deltatre will work together to launch a new website for the confederation that will include new engagement and monetisation functionality, including the ability to cover live events quickly and easily with the delivery of text, photos, and videos in an engaging stream.
The entire project was delivered in under one month after receiving the tender, including full development and deployment of the website, applications, migration of content from the previous platform, and team on-boarding.
With Forge, editors at CAF benefit from improved productivity and internal coordination, the company said in a statement.
Deltatre has proven its capability to deploy scalable, fan-first solutions under immense pressure and against tight deadlines, said Abdel BAH, Director of Marketing at CAF.
The Total Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt 2019 has been watched by millions of football fans across the region, and when looking for a partner it was immensely important to us to find one that has proven heritage in delivering reliable technology solutions that can handle extreme spikes in traffic. Im happy to say that we found that in Deltatre.
Understanding of how an audience interacts with the digital properties and using this insight to test and evolve the service was given particular attention throughout the project, resulting in CAF now able to integrate different sources of audience data to create a more premium fan experience.
Deltatre also worked closely with CAF around the tournament draw, delivering a data and TV graphic solution in under one week.
The AFCON final tournament draw is one of the most viewed events across the entire tournament, said Abdel BAH, Director of Marketing at CAF.

Gilles Mas, President of Global Football at Deltatre, added: Africa is a hotbed of innovation when it comes to delivering football at scale, in high quality, across the region. And there is no clearer a leader in the space than CAF. Working with the team to deliver a digital destination where fans can keep up to speed with whats happening during the tournament has been an honour, and we look forward to continuing the momentum behind its success long into the future.
