The film became the first in the entire franchise to pass the 10bn yen mark with more than 7m admissions.
Spacetoon has announced that Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, the 26th movie in the Detective Conan franchise, will be released in theatres in the Arab region on June 8.
Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa at TMS Entertainment. The film opened in Japan on April 14. It became the first film in the entire franchise to pass 10bn yen with more than 7m admissions.
This time’s location is set in the sea near the Hachijo-jima island, Tokyo. Engineers from around the world have gathered for the full-scale operation of “Pacific Buoy,” an offshore facility to connect security cameras owned by the worldwide police forces. A certain “new technology” based on a face recognition system is being tested there.
Meanwhile, Conan visits Hachijo-jima with the Detective Boys at Sonoko’s invitation and receives a phone call from Subaru Okiya (FBI agent Shuichi Akai in disguise) informing them that a Europol employee was murdered in Germany by Gin from the Black Organisation.
In advance of its release in cinemas, Spacetoon released the introductory film Ai Haibara Story: Black Iron Mysteries, which introduced the 26th Detective Conan movie to the audience. Both movies are linked to each other, so it serves as a reminder of Haibara’s story and how it led to her current situation.
