The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) announced a partnership with YouTube to support VIDXB 2017 during the opening press conference for the Middle East Film and Comic Con 2017 (MEFCC). VIDXB will be produced in collaboration with The Alliance LLC, the organisers of MEFCC.
YouTube, the worlds largest video platform, will accelerate the development of online video in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by serving as a VIDXB Industry Partner. YouTube will also participate on the VIDXB Steering Committee, and actively apply their research and insights on the region to shape VIDXBs programme and offerings.
Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of the Dubai Film and TV Commission commented: Our partnership with YouTube will ensure that VIDXB is the definitive gathering where emerging and established creators, influencers, industry experts, fans, and brands connect. This platform will empower talent from this region to continually create compelling content by providing them access to the latest technology, industry insights, and global expertise.
Diana Baddar, Head of YouTube Partnerships in MENA said: As the momentum on YouTube continues to grow fast in the MENA region, so is our commitment to supporting the creator community and especially boosting the wealth of Arabic content on the web. There is higher quality and diversity of online video content today than there ever was and through this partnership, we hope to push it to even greater boundaries.
The organizers of VIDXB, The Alliance LLC, have developed a reputation for delivering world class events focused on fan communities.
Ben Caddy, Founder and CEO, concluded: Just as weve seen with MEFCC over the years, there is so much regional talent out there, and through VIDXB, were excited to establish a platform that supports the growth of dynamic, new media content creators.
VIDXB is the MENA regions first annual gathering celebrating the world of online video. The two-day event will be held from 8 to 9 December 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and will also kick off an ongoing series of programs to promote local content, showcase emerging technologies, and facilitate skills development for Dubai’s growing digital media talent pool.
VIDXB bring together everyone who has embraced digital platforms, to create, consume and share content. The event will cover a wide range of interests, from lifestyle and beauty to gaming, technology and sports, and will promote knowledge-sharing through hands-on, fun activations, interactive workshops and panels with top creators.
According to the Arab Media Outlook 2016 2018, half the regions population is under age 24, and they are embracing video and social networks more than any other media platforms. This young, vibrant and active audience will continue to drive demand for greater digital content that can be consumed anytime, anywhere, on any device.
