The Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) extended its partnership with the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children and Reel Cinemas to host a second film screening for children. The screening, which took place on September 20, 2017, forms part of DFTCs initiative A Smile for Every Child which aims to give back to the community in line with the Year of Giving 2017.
The young viewers watched Nut Job 2 with popcorn and beverages to add to the cinematic experience.
Commenting on the initiative, Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission said: This initiative is an important part of our efforts to bring joy and happiness to our communities by sharing our love and appreciation of film and the big screen. It also is testament to our commitment to the Year of Giving 2017, a wonderful initiative, announced by our leaders earlier this year that has created a platform from which we can invest in giving something back to and creating a positive impact on UAE society.
Highlighting the partnership, Adon Quinn, ?Senior Director, Reel Cinemas, a subsidiary of Emaar Entertainment, said: “This partnership with Dubai Film and TV Commission allows us to help share the enjoyment of cinema and put smiles on the faces of children and their parents. Its our pleasure to once again welcome them as part of the year of giving, and look forward to continuing to give back to the community.
The first film screening was hosted earlier this year in April at Reel Cinemas, Dubai Mall, where 35 women and children from the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children watched the screening of the Disney blockbuster Moana.
