The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) has won two awards at the eighth annual International Business Awards, also known as the Stevie Awards.
The film festival was named Distinguished Honouree in the IBAs Best Consumer Event category. Other finalists in the category included organisations in Spain, South Korea and Turkey.
DIFF also figured in the IBAs Communications category, winning the Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Multicultural award for its seventh edition.
The 2011 International Business Awards will be presented at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi in October this year.
Speaking about being selected to receive the awards, Abdulhamid Juma, chairman of DIFF, stated: We are delighted to receive the twin honours at the International Business Awards for our seventh edition held in 2010. Over the years, DIFF has not only established its credentials as the definitive film festival of the Arab world, serving as a platform to showcase the finest films from the region, but also set benchmarks in consumer event management.
