The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) has partnered with Twitter this year to host a number of activities on the social media platform.
The festivals gala opening will be streamed through Periscope, Twitters live streaming app. As part of the Twitter Mirror feature, celebrities participating in the festival will be able to take selfies by tapping the mirrors screen. The image will then be sent out to @DubaiFilm for interaction with followers. Theres also Twitter Q&A, where followers can post questions that celebrities will answer. In addition, Twitter will host an indoor area at the festival for live interviews with celebrities that will then be shared on @DubaiFilm. In addition, DIFF will use Orcavue on the red carpet to take 360-degree videos of celebrities and moviegoers that will then be posted on Twitter.
Speaking about the partnership, Kinda Ibrahim, Director of Media Partnerships at Twitter MENA, commented: We are proud to be taking part in such a prestigious film festival, and are excited to see peoples passion for the cinema roll out on Twitter.
