Disney Plus has won five Emmy awards for Original series The Mandalorian during the Creative Arts Emmys virtual presentation held on September 16.
The Mandalorian took home awards for cinematography, production design, sound editing and sound mixing, as well as in the ‘Outstanding Special Visual Effects’ category. The show is created by Jon Favreau, who executive produces alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson.
The Star Wars spinoff series beat out Original Netflix titles Lost in Space and Stranger Things as well as HBO’s WestWorld and Watchman.
However, Watchman took home four wins in cinematography, costume, picture editing and sound mixing.
The second season of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney Plus on October 30.
The 72nd Primetime Emmys will air on September 20 on ABC at 4 am Dubai time. The three-hour event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
