Actor Oscar Isaac, who played rebel pilot Poe Dameron in the Disney 'Star Wars' sequels, is set to star as the protagonist in the series.
Disney has tapped Egyptian filmmaker and writer Mohamed Diab to direct the Marvel series Moon Knight, Deadline has reported.
The series follows Moon Knight, also known as Marc Spector, a wealthy vigilante who is given a second shot at life by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu in exchange for becoming his avatar on Earth.

Moon Knight, created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, first appeared in the August 1975 issue Werewolf by Night #32. Jeremy Slater is the TV project’s showrunner, leading the writing team on the series.
Diab, an Egyptian filmmaker, made his directorial debut with Cairo 678, a drama about state-sanctioned, gender-oriented sexual violence in Egypt.
His next film, Amira, is scheduled to be released in 2021. He’s also involved in directing a miniseries called Sandstorm to be released in the same.
