The films are being scheduled for release at the end of summer.
Dubai-headquartered DKL Studio is currently producing three films in parallel, Fadi Ismail, owner of the company and producer told BroadcastPro ME. Two of the films are being shot in Egypt while a third is being filmed in Abu Dhabi. All of the three films are targeted at Saudi viewers and are tentatively scheduled for release around the end of summer.
“While all three are Saudi-centric films, they are not being produced in the Kingdom primarily because production plans were devised when it became difficult to travel to and from KSA. Besides this, there were quality and cost considerations,” clarified Ismail. “All the lead cast, however, are Saudi nationals and we have a mix of celebrities and newcomers in the three films. We have attempted horror with one of our films while the other is a romantic comedy and the third is a social drama.”
Ismail added that he has signed deals for the theatrical release of two of the films and the post-theatrical release of the third film.
