The Digital Media Department of the Radio and TV sector of state-backed broadcaster, Dubai Media Incorporated, will host 40 documentary films and videos related to the activities of the United Nations and its humanitarian and social issues, on its digital platform Awaan. The broadcast is the result of a media partnership between the United Nations (UN) and DMI.
The UN films, part of the UN in Action campaign, reflect human stories from a global perspective. Awaan will stream more than 40 documentaries in the areas of sustainable development, climate change, economic development, women, culture, education, humanitarian aid and other issues.
Stories from Tanzania, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Peru, Indonesia, Rwanda, India, Zanzibar Island, China, Morocco, Armenia, Chile, Vietnam, Nepal and Brazil among others are part of the collection.
Awaan carries a large library of Arabic movies and a package of foreign programmes and films. The platform includes more than 150,000 hours of video and audio files.
