Doha Film Institute (DFI) has announced its ‘Cinema by the Sea’, an outdoor screening of films at West Bay Beach located along the Diplomatic Area.
The screening will be held every Friday starting this week and will continue for three weeks – April 28, May 5 and May 12 where international movies and short films made in Qatar will be shown.
There is a QAR 30 ($8.24) beach access ticket required to see the movie, but children under 12 are free to enter.
A screening of the animated film Rio (2011) by Carlos Saldanha is scheduled for April 28, followed by Made in Qatar: Short Films Programme, which will feature Emsahar by Hassan Al Jahni, Hope by Abdulla Al Janahi, Yahoota by Latifa Al Darwish, Khurshid by Mazen Shafea, and Al-Johara by Nora Al Subai, on May 5, and Japanese fantasy/adventure movie Ponyo (2008) by Hayao Miyazaki on May 12.
