The free app is designed to record and live stream audio and video with Dolby sound quality using just the phone.
Music and video recording and streaming app Dolby On is now available on Apple iOS and Android Google Play store across the MENA region. Dolby On listens to the sound coming in and automatically applies audio effects like compression, EQ, limiting, noise reduction, stereo widening, de-essing and more. It also allows users to edit the sound with unique sound “styles” filters, allowing them to apply sonic profiles to the recording.
Thus, enabling creators to record and Livestream, both audio and video, with Dolby sound from the comfort of their home, without having to go to a studio. The iOS app has an in-built ‘one tap’ live streaming feature for sharing out content to Twitch or Facebook.
For video, the app allows users to frame their shot by setting up the phone or tablet, and ensure that space is lit properly. For audio-only recordings, users can experiment with phone placement to get the right mix of sound sources.
Users should check the levels and keep an eye on the in-app level meter if they’re in the red, and reduce your volume or move the phone further away to avoid clipping.
If using the iOS live streaming feature, users should make sure to have the Facebook or Twitch feeds available nearby on a separate device to view feedback and engage with viewers in real-time. While live streaming will work from a good cell data signal, Dolby recommends a strong WiFi connection for best results.
Users can also use their external phone mic setup with Dolby On app.
