A new report from the Arab Advisors Group reveals that drama series dominated Arabic productions in the region. The study analysed 18 production houses in seven Arab countries namely Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria and UAE. The report is based on 79 series produced in 2014 and the first six months of 2015.
The report also reveals that the analysed production houses produced a total of 40 Arabic television series in 2014 and 39 series in the first six months of 2015.
Arab Advisors Group analysis revealed that the majority of productions for 2014 and the first six months of 2015 are of the drama genre, constituting 50% and 51% of total productions respectively,” said Dalia Haddad, Arab Advisors Senior Research Analyst.
Production houses based in Egypt and the UAE were the most productive followed by Syrian production companies, she added.
