Dubai Press Club (DPC) has scheduled a discussion on 7 August, focusing on local programming for all seasons. The discussion, titled New Trends in Arab Drama Production, will also highlight the latest developments in the content production industry in the Arab world, in addition to identifying opportunities and potential trends.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, top quality programmes are being broadcast every year at this time due to the seasons high popularity, which leaves the rest of the year without the best content. Researchers and experts believe that the local production industry will grow with success if quality programming is shown throughout the year. A vibrant television schedule should be ongoing, not limited to one specific part of the year.
Recently, the Gulf States have been providing local entertainment content successfully on a level with Egyptian, Syrian, and Lebanese productions. Adapting international shows for an Arab audience through purchasing the rights from regional producers is gaining momentum while importing and dubbing global content, especially Turkish and American productions, are proving equally popular amongst domestic production houses.
DPC will be holding a variety of events and activities for the Holy Month of Ramadan, focusing on topics that interest a diverse section of the community hoping to facilitate the exchange of views and ideas. Workshops, symposia, seminars, and social gatherings feature on the calendar. DPC has partnered with Dubai World Trade Centre to set up a special Majlis in Al Wasl Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
