4K content will get a massive push this year in the UAE as E-Vision, Etisalats content aggregator and management arm, has secured the World Cup in 4K as well, as part of Etisalats World Cup broadcast package.
Etisalats eLife TV subscribers, who have a 4K box will be able to view the 4K World Cup matches on channel 772 in English and channel 773 in Arabic.
E-Vision has also secured hundreds of hours of 4K Hollywood movies and series since last year that are part of eLifes Video On Demand services. The full impact of its 4K offering, however, will be felt by subscribers when they watch the World Cup in a truly immersive 4K experience in detailed definition, crisp image and colour depth even at close range.
E-Vision has also undertaken significant technical upgrades of operations and content management at its broadcast centre to facilitate 4K live transmission of the matches.
The World Cup package on eLife is available for USD150 while the 4K content can be viewed for an additional $10.
