'The One' is executive produced by Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy for Urban Myth.
Egyptian-British actor Amir El-Masry is set to star in Netflix’s new sci-fi drama The One. The show is set to have eight episodes and will release on March 12 on Netflix.
Based on a novel by John Marrs of the same name, the film will feature Amir as Ben, the best friend of MatchDNA’s co-founders Rebecca and James, who have created a company that pairs people to their soulmate using science and DNA technology. However, not everything is at it seems as something brews behind the scenes, with James disappearing in the middle of the company’s success, and people believing that the whole idea is leading to the destruction of love lives.
Howard Overman of Misfits fame is the creator, writer, and executive producer on the project, with El-Masry joined by Hannah Ware, Dimitri Leonidas, Stephen Campbell Moore, Wilf Scolding, Diarmaid Murtagh, Lois Chimimba, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Pallavi Sharda, Zoë Tapper, and Gregg Chillin.
