In addition to the feature film, AFLAM will screen the five minute TROPFEST Arabia 2012 shortlisted film Two, Six by Moroccan Director Khaled Al Taki, which revolves around a pivotal tool symbolizing the numbers two and six.
The event will be held at VOX Cinemas at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi on March 27. Diab will be attending the screening and conclude the evening with an open discussion about his film.
678 has won several international awards, including the Muhr Award for Best Actor and Best Actress at Dubai International Film Festival in 2010; the Audience and Youth Audience Awards at Montpelier Mediterranean Film Festival; the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actor, Best Feature Film and Best International Feature at Chicago International Film Festival; the High Commendation Award at Asia Pacific Screen Awards in 2011, as well as the Grand Prize for Dramatic Feature at Heartland Film Festival in 2012.
This bold feature exposes the reality of rising sexual harassment incidents in Egyptian society through the lives of three women from across Cairos social hierarchy and the tormenting experiences each has faced.
Supported by twofour54, AFLAM was launched following the success of The Scene Club that Nayla Al Khaja and D-Seven Motion Pictures founded in Dubai in 2007, and aims at providing a platform for film industry members and enthusiasts to network and view quality regional films in Abu Dhabi.
