Mahraganat Stars confirm deal with Sony Music Entertainment Middle East.
Following the announcement earlier this year of Sony Music Entertainment Middle East’s catalogue and multi-single deal with Egyptian Mahraganat label 100 Copies, the latest hit from El Sawareekh titled El Bent Theb is now available.
The new hit – El Bent Theb (The Girl Loves) from Egyptian sensations – Dokdok & Bassem Fanky – best known for Laa Laa, is their first release under the Sony Music banner. The single is an energetic, upbeat Egyptian shaabi record, which blends Basem’s catchy lyrics and vocals with Fanky’s unique style.
El Bent Theb is one of many hits to be released as part of the Sony Music’s Mahraganat plan. With a packed schedule throughout the summer, more announcements are expected in the coming weeks as Sony Music and 100 Copies continue to build the new stars of the Egyptian Mahraganat scene.
Speaking about the release, Mike Fairburn, General Manager of Sony Music Entertainment Middle East commented: “El Sawareekh is sensational. This song is a hit with our partners 100 Copies and we are excited to be part of the Mahraganat movement. It is a diverse genre and reflects many aspects of Egyptian youth. We are already seeing global interest in this rapidly growing genre. The song is a smash, and we are looking forward to working with these brilliant talents on more music this summer.”
