Elenos, a radio transmitter production company has launched Women Radio Training Network (WRTN), a new project dedicated to African women.
Supported by AMARC Europe (World Association of Community radio Broadcasters) and Search for Common Ground, WRTN is a contest for African community radios, from different countries in the continent, involved in the empowerment and support of womens rights within society.
These radio stations will produce programmes focused on womens education, wealth, economic development, struggle against violence and protection of civil rights.
An expert commission will judge the best work and Elenos will donate a 500W transmitter to the winner.
The contest will begin on May 17 until July 25.
