A new deal between Egyptian broadcaster CBC and Endemol will see the launch of a new format in the region, according to a report in WorldScreen. Endemol is producing a 13-episode version of Best Years of My Life for CBC, which is set to air in April.
In another deal, Endemol Middle East has also renewed its deal with CBC for Star Academy. The contract will see Endemol produce 16 additional episodes of Star Academy for CBC, marking the format’s tenth season in the region. A 24-hour pan-Arab Star Academy channel will also feature all the live action as well as the 105 daily access shows that include each days highlights.
Speaking about the deals, Lara Haddad, MD of Endemol Middle East, commented: We are thrilled with the success of Star Academys return to the region and we believe Best Years of Your Lives has what it takes to become CBCs next big hit.
