IPTV solutions provider Exterity is supporting this years international Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship by providing an e3555 Encoder installed in an Exterity c1101 Chassis enabling the host venue to stream the event live. The annual event, which runs from January 17th 20th, is being hosted at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa. The hotel has implemented the technology in order to enhance the experience for its guests by streaming footage of the event live via an IPTV system right across the property.
The solution was installed by UAE-based systems integrator RPS Technologies, which is also Exterity StreamForces channel partner.
The encoder has been installed for the entire duration of the tournament and will offer the hotel the option to stream live or pre-recorded action. RPS Technologies is also providing support services for the solution to the property.

The live SDi HD broadcast feed will be streamed over the hotel IP network throughout the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spas 172 rooms and public areas using the market leading encoder from Exterity. The broadcast will mark the first time in the region that a live golf event has been streamed over a hotels IPTV system in full 1080p HD.
The e3555 encoder will enable the hotel to scale video content to a variety of resolutions up to full 1080p HD. Because the encoder is quick and easy to set up it is ideal for use by venues like The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa who need to tap into a resource for an independent event like the golf championship.
Exterity has been able to meet The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spas demand to make the most of its existing IPTV network and provide the ability to stream quality video source to a variety of different devices throughout the resort, commented Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity.
