Dubai Channels Network’s fashion-based reality TV show, Fashion Star, is showcasing the creative skills of designers in the Arab world as it heads into its seventh episode this week. The show is entering an interesting phase as contestants are going all out to impress judges Reem Acra, Hanaa Ben Abdesslem and Ramzi Tabiat. This week Jamila Halfichi, a fashion expert and top Middle East Fashion editor will join the judges to see what the six remaining designers can bring to the catwalk.
The competition last week saw the contestants bring seven girls dresses to life before their eyes. The added pressure of having to create four designs was too much for Mona Al Zarooni, from the UAE, and she was sent home by the judges.
The seventh episode of the show will have Reem Acra share her story of perseverance, dedication to her dream and the importance of accessing the creative side of your mind.
Also, one contestant will be given a special surprise birthday celebration.
The show is being broadcast on Dubai One and DubaiTV Channels.
In Fashion Star, 12 contestants are competing over a 10-episode reality TV show which will see the final winner receive a grand prize of AED500,000 and the opportunity to display and sell their designs on the retail website – NAMSHI.COM.
Produced by Dubai Channels Network, a part of Dubai Media Incorporated, Fashion Star gives Arabic designers the chance to compete in front of internationally acclaimed icons of the fashion world, including Reem Acra, Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Ramzi Tabiat and TV presenter Leila Bin Khalifa.
