The inaugural edition of the tournament brings together the continent's most successful teams.
FIFA+ (www.FIFA.com) will live stream the quarter-finals of the African Football League (AFL) from October 20 to 25, 2023.
The tournament’s inaugural edition ran for four weeks, with the last eight fixtures taking place between the aforementioned dates. The AFL is a brand-new competition rising from a partnership between the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
The African Football League quarter-finals will be available to watch live on FIFA+ worldwide except South Africa, the United Kingdom and Tanzania.
Participating teams include, Al Ahly (Egypt), Esperance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia) and Wydad AC (Morocco) from the Northern region. The Central-West region is represented by Enyimba FC (Nigeria) and TP Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo). Mamelodi Sundowns FC (South Africa), Atletico Petroleos de Luanda (Angola) and Simba SC (Tanzania) represent the South-East region.
This inaugural edition is a precursor to the full-fledged AFL competition which will bring together the 24 top-ranked African football clubs and which will begin in the 2024/25 season.
