MAD Solutions has sent three short titles from its distribution slate to the 2024 edition of the Aflam Festival in Marseille, which will run until April 20.
Headlining the MAD roster is Muschirf Shekh Zeyn’s Killing Bagheera, a poignant narrative following Alan and Bekes as they navigate the perilous journey of seeking refuge in Europe. It is set to be screened on April 17 at 5 pm during the festival’s Short Film Session 1.
Following closely is Wissam Charaf’s If the Sun Drowned into an Ocean of Clouds, offering a poetic journey through the life of Raed, a security guard stationed at a waterfront construction site in Beirut, Lebanon. Scheduled for two screenings on April 19, the film invites viewers to delve into Raed’s world of unfulfilled dreams and unexpected encounters.
Completing the trio is Mouloud Aït Liotna’s The House is on Fire, Might As Well Get Warm, a tale following Yanis, a young Kabyle man embarking on a journey to Paris. Screening on April 20 at 12 pm as part of the festival’s Short Film Session 3, the film promises to offer a poignant reflection on life, loss, and unexpected connections.
