In addition to the scriptwriting workshops, there will be a subsidised production period for a whole year in the presence of the participants.
The Red Sea International Film Festival has signed a cooperation agreement with the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with the filmakademie Baden Württemberg GmbH in Ludwigsburg, Germany, to launch the Short Film Klinik programme, targeting promising filmmakers and scriptwriters.
The programme will include three workshops for scriptwriting, in addition to a subsidised production period for a whole year, in the presence of the participants. One script from each workshop will be selected by the jury and developed for production, supervised by a dedicated specialised production team, in addition to providing funding grants for the production of the three films.
The first workshop will take place in Jeddah in December 2022 during this year’s edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. The second workshop will be held in conjunction with the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2023, followed by a third workshop in the United Arab Emirates in May. The film production phase will take place from October through November.
