Canal+ International has launched a short, humour-based programme exclusively on the antenna of Canal+ in Africa. Kongossa Telecom is the first series project to be launched following the call for applications to the MDR! Project, established in 2015 by Canal+ and CFI, the French Agency for Media Development, to identify and train African talent.
The short comedy series has reportedly been selected from more than a hundred projects submitted by candidates from all over Africa. The authors of the series were able to benefit from a training session to help with the writing and producing series of comedy-based audiovisual drama.
Co-produced by Canal+ International, Kongossa Telecom was produced by On Est Ensemble Productions (Gabon) and directed by Samantha Biffot. Kongossa Telecom presents five childhood friends Patrick, Yann, his sister Ngringa, Dégé and Charlotte and the misunderstandings and the craziness that arise from their conversations.
