'Al Eid Eiden' is scheduled for a theatrical release across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the broader Gulf region on July 4.
Front Row Filmed Entertainment has secured the global distribution rights for Image Nation Abu Dhabi’s Saudi-Emirati family comedy Al Eid Eiden – marking the first major feature produced by an all-female Emirati creative team.
The distribution deal was finalised at the Cannes market, with plans underway for a wide theatrical release across the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the wider Gulf on July 4, through Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Front Row Arabia, a joint venture between Front Row and Saudi exhibitor Muvi Cinemas. Front Row will also handle post-theatrical rights.
The cast boasts Saudi star Fahad Al-Butairi, Emirati actress Mira Al Midfa, and Egyptian star Shadi Alfons.
Al Eid Eiden is helmed by first-time feature director Maitha Al Awadhi, produced by Rawia Abdallah, and written by Sara Al Sayegh.
Al Eid Eiden narrates the story of a Saudi-Emirati family gearing up for an Eid getaway in Abu Dhabi. However, unforeseen events disrupt their travel plans on the day of departure. Despite the challenges faced by the parents, they choose to proceed with the trip to avoid disappointing their three young children, leading to a series of comedic mishaps and misunderstandings.
Speaking about the film, Ben Ross, Acting CEO of Image Nation Abu Dhabi said: “Image Nation aims to nurture new talent and tell authentic Arab stories. To have this project led by three female Emirati creatives and depict a heartfelt story that will resonate with our region and beyond, Al Eid Eiden is a testimony to our ongoing efforts to develop our industry. Front Row is a fantastic partner for this project, and we look forward to the success of Al Eid Eiden’s release.”
Gianluca Chakra, CEO and Founder of Front Row Filmed Entertainment, added: “We are delighted to be working with our partners at Image Nation on Al Eid Eiden. This will be the first of many collaborations and we can’t wait for audiences to watch the film in cinemas.”
