For projects in development, the submission deadline is July 15, 2023, while for films in post-production, the deadline is August 1, 2023.
El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) has announced the call for entries for the sixth edition of the CineGouna Platform, which is scheduled to take place from October 15-19, 2023, in the resort town of El Gouna.
The deadline for receipt of submissions is July 15, 2023, for projects in development and August 1, 2023, for films in post-production. The entry form and complete information regarding eligibility for submission are available on the festival’s website.
During its fifth edition, CineGouna Platform selected 12 projects in development and six films in post-production based on their content, artistic vision, and overall financial feasibility. These projects presented by GFF along with its partners and sponsors, were eligible for various awards worth $300,000.
The CineGouna SpringBoard jury included Lebanese producer and film critic Mohamed Soueid, former CEO of the NFDC Nina Lath Gupta, and Moroccan director and screenwriter Ismaël Ferroukhi.
Since its inception, several CineGouna Platform alumni have made their mark regionally and internationally by winning acclaim and awards at prestigious international film festivals.
Speaking about the festival, Festival Director Intishal Al Timimi said: “Many CGP Alumni, whose projects were supported in development or post-production have been invited for screenings at prestigious international film festivals — clear evidence of the excellent judgement of our team of experts on the selection committee. We are committed to attracting the best of high-potential cinematic work and to maintaining our leading position in the region as a platform which highlights new ideas and projects using a modern cinematic language.”
The sixth edition of GFF is scheduled to take place from October 12 to 20, 2023, in the resort town of El Gouna.
