The regions biggest consumer IT and electronics show, Gitex Shopper, will relocate to the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) this year. The customer electronics market in the UAE is estimated to soar up to a record $3.8 billion during 2012. DWTC will provide 25 percent increased exhibitor space and has the added advantage of the metro station within walking distance.
Set to be the biggest show to date, Gitex Shopper will be offering more than 25,000 of the latest products and gadgets on the market, with hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to take advantage of this event. Some of the worlds top consumer brands will occupy the space, such as Bose, Dell, Epson, Fujitsu, HP, HTC, Intel, Nintendo and Samsung. Leading regional distributors and retailers will include Al Falak, Al Sayegh, CompuME, E-City, EMAX, Etisalat, Geekay Games, iSTYLE, Jackys Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Plug-Ins, Sharaf DG, Tarsam, Touchmate and V.V. & Sons.
Organiser of Gitex Shopper and senior vice-president of DWTC, Trixee Loh, said, Our exhibitors required increased exhibition space, and this move enables us to deliver that. We have also increased the number of hours that the show is open, in a bid to meet the growing needs of the visitors. We are always looking for ways to increase value for all.
The show will open from 11am 10pm on Saturday 29 September to Wednesday 3 October, and from 11am 11pm on Thursday 4 October to Saturday 6 October. Tickets are priced at Dh30 per person and free for children under the age of five.
