The Co-Production Majlis aims to facilitate investment deals in Arabic entertainment while serving as a hub for knowledge sharing and inspiring innovative projects to shape the industry's future.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the upcoming Global Media Congress (GMC) will introduce a Co-Production Majlis. This addition to the region’s most prominent international media event seeks to foster collaboration across the media production ecosystem, focusing on the creation of creative content.
Themed “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry,” the conference and exhibition are scheduled to take place from November 14 to 16, 2023, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Capital Events, a subsidiary of the ADNEC Group, in strategic partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), is organising the GMC, with expectations of drawing media professionals worldwide. Attendees will have the opportunity to stay informed about the latest industry trends and challenges, facilitating vital knowledge sharing.
The Co-Production Majlis, an exclusive, invitation-only space for industry leaders and innovators, will serve as a platform for networking, idea exchange, discussions of case studies, and exploration of new co-production and partnership opportunities within the media landscape. This addition complements six established feature areas, including Workshops, Innovate Stage & NexTech, Create Stage, Educate Stage, Media Roundtables, and Media Future Labs. Leading MENA production houses, streaming platforms, and prominent broadcasters such as StarzPlay, Dubai Media Inc., and ADTV, among others, will actively participate.
Speaking about the Co-Production Majilis, Mohammed Jalal Al Raissi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee for the Global Media Congress and Director-General of WAM, said: “The inclusion of the co-production Majlis in the Global Media Congress this year is aimed at bringing to the forefront the importance of quality media content and their effective dissemination in a commercially viable fashion. One of the key concerns of content creators across the globe is the best ways in which they could market their work and find suitable consumers. The Majlis will serve as a dynamic platform for content creators and content buyers to interact in a symbiotic manner. This is very much a part of our commitment to helping shape the future of the media industry.”
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, added: “Given the rapid changes in the media industry, ADNEC Group is delighted to host the Global Media Congress as an ideal platform for businesses and entrepreneurs to connect with global thought leaders, learn about the latest trends, and collaborate on new ideas. By providing an exclusive new platform for invited attendees, the Co-Production Majlis will facilitate productive connections between potential investors and like-minded professionals. This exciting new feature area shows our commitment to growing the Congress as a leading international media gathering.”
The Co-Production Majlis will have a specific focus on closing investment deals in Arabic entertainment, serving as a hub for knowledge sharing and a source of inspiration for innovative projects shaping the future of the industry.
