Rio de Janeiro headquartered Globo TV has opted for Adder Technology to enhance its control room.
Globo TV identified the need to improve the workflow of its post-production control room. The control room team, tasked with monitoring, managing and storing all the feeds coming into the centre, as well as the associated computers that are dedicated to the media transfer process, needed to streamline its processes to enable operators to manage several ingest streams and display them on one centrally located video wall. This would remove the need for users to physically move between the 25 ingest computers and allow them instead to switch between each machine, managing the process from one location and therefore saving time and improving efficiency.
Globo TV tested various solutions and decided upon the IP-based, AdderLink Infinity solution from Adder Technology. This IP-based KVM solution provides pixel perfect AV and USB extension with instant switching between computers. With it, Globo TV was able to remove all computers from the control room while still ensuring full management from a centralised location. The result was not only a more streamlined workflow, but also improved reliability and user ergonomics. The physical computers are now located in a separate room with increased security and climate control while each user position has the capability to switch between all sources, and pull and push content with the click of a button.
“It’s very rewarding to have a customer return for a follow up project, and to work with the Globo TV tech team again,” said Adder Account Manager and liaison for the project, Rafael Serrano.
“This was a straightforward addition to their existing IP network and we’re proud to have been selected to help the organisation achieve their workflow goals in the control room.”
