A new partnership between HP and Universal Music MENA will make the Groups catalogue of global and regional artists available to Middle East consumers through HP Play.
HP Play is now available in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan. Under this collaboration, HP customers that purchase a new super mobile HP ENVY 4 or HP ENVY 6 Sleekbook will be given an HP Play pack to register with a serial number online and access HP Play for free for 12 months. Non-HP customers will be able to purchase HP Play packs at selected retail stores or online at hpplay.com/middleeast within the next few weeks.
The new solution will enable consumers to create personalised playlists and enjoy online streaming and downloads at no cost from Universal Musics world-class catalogue on their HP Sleekbooks, a new thin and light notebook range launching in the region. Global superstars ranging from Madonna, Dr Dre and the Rolling Stones to Kanye West, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, as well as popular Arabic and Asian artists, which are part of Universal Musics collaboration with other top catalogues, will be available as part of this new music service for the Middle East.
Speaking about the new deal, Salim Ziade, general manager of HP Printing and Personal Systems, Middle East, said: As the worlds largest technology company, we are excited to partner with the worlds leading music group to offer music fans across the Middle East access to this extensive catalogue. At HP, we are constantly working to redefine the digital entertainment experience for our customers.
Patrick Boulos, managing director of Universal Music MENA added that this one-of-a-kind opportunity gives music fans access to legal digital music in the region with the most extensive choice of catalogues and world-famous artists.
HP play is the first partnership ever, in this category, in this region and we will constantly grow our proposition with new releases and hits to always bring more satisfaction to music lovers and fans. This partnership will also pave the way to signing and developing new local talent.”
