The Broadcast and Media awards (BaMs) will be presented at NAB Show Las Vegas and IBC in Amsterdam.
IABM has launched a new, unified technology awards programme for 2018 . The Broadcast and Media awards (BaMs) will be presented at NAB Show Las Vegas and IBC in Amsterdam to recognise outstanding technological innovations that deliver business and creative benefits.
The BaMs will be awarded to innovations in nine newly-defined categories that reportedly model the structure of the industry today. All the winners will be automatically shortlisted for the IABM Peter Wayne Award, with the overall winner receiving this industry accolade at the IABMs Annual Awards at the end of the year.
Submissions for the BaMs are open to every company that has launched a new product or service within 12 months of NAB Show or IBC respectively. Judging will be carried out reportedly by a panel of 40 non-affiliated, expert judges.
We have been running our NAB Game Changer Awards and IBC Design & Innovation Awards for some years now, and they have become highly-prized assets both for the winners and shortlisted entrants, said Peter White, IABM CEO.
The structure of the industry has transformed over the last couple of years, and we have restructured the awards categories to reflect this. It was a natural next step to unify the awards around the two largest events of the year NAB Show and IBC giving them equal status and recognition. I expect the BaMs to be quickly established as the gold standard for technology innovators in our exciting, fast-changing industry, White concluded.
