IBC 2024 has announced a diverse lineup of keynotes, presentations, panels and other sessions for this year’s IBC Conference, set to take place from September 13-15 at a new location within the RAI Amsterdam. The conference offers delegates exclusive access to insightful content from thought leaders across the global media, entertainment and technology sectors. The sessions will delve into topics related to IBC 2024’s three core pillars: Transformative Technology, Shifting Business Models and People and Purpose.

The IBC Conference will expand to three days in 2024, moving to the Auditorium Complex at the RAI, featuring two theatres and a spacious Delegate Lounge. The Lounge will offer all attendees complimentary refreshments, dedicated WiFi, a concierge service and semi-private meeting rooms for networking and quiet discussions away from the exhibition floor. The IBC Innovation Awards will also be hosted at the conference on September 15.
Kicking off with an IBC Welcome Party on September 12 at the nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel, the conference will focus on critical trends and technologies reshaping the media landscape. Benedict Evans, an internationally renowned media and technology analyst, will open with a keynote titled “Navigating a Changing Media Landscape: AI and Everything Else,” exploring the impact of immersive technologies, AI, new connectivity, and personalised content experiences on the media and entertainment ecosystem.
Following the keynote, a series of fireside chats will feature tech innovation insights from Grace Boswood, Technology Director at Channel 4; Cristina Gomila, Managing Director of Content Technology & Innovation at Sky; and Sinead Greenaway, Director of Broadcast and End User Technology at the BBC. These sessions will culminate in a panel discussion titled “Building the Future of Tech.”
The second day will feature keynotes from Girish Bajaj, Vice President of Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios Technology, and Phil Wiser, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Technology Officer at Paramount Global. Additionally, a joint fireside chat on the intersection of AI and creativity will be held by Sachin Dev Duggal, Founder of Builder.ai, and Andy Hood, Vice President of Emerging Technologies at WPP.
Day two will also include a session on broadcasting technologies used for the 2024 Olympics, featuring Israel Esteban, Chief Technology Officer at beIN Media Group, and James Miles, Senior Director of Live Event Workflows at NBC Sports. On the following day, Chris Jackson, Global Head of Digital Data and Analytics at the Olympic Channel, will discuss the role of AI in enhancing audience engagement for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Delegates will also have access to IBC Technical Papers, presenting peer-reviewed research on real-world industry challenges. This year’s topics include sustainability, AI in production, audio and speech technologies, streaming advancements, XR, video coding, and 5G case studies.
In addition, Maria Rua Aguete, Senior Research Director at OMDIA, will lead a roundtable session in the Delegate Lounge, presenting findings on current media and entertainment trends, including the impact of AI, evolving business models, changing consumer viewing habits, and the influence of smart TVs.
