Icflix, the region’s first online streaming media platform, witnessed a good response rate from over forty countries since its initial soft launch. Within two weeks, an overwhelming number of subscribers have signed up for the media streaming website, which currently has a growing library from studios of Hollywood, Bollywood and Jazwood genres.
The UAE-based company is accessible to users all over the world. It has drawn attention to its Arabic content streaming live online since before Ramadan. During the holy month of Ramadan, Icflix introduced 18 new series.
Icflix gives its subscribers to watch their programme of choice on any device, at any time.
Icflix provides its subscribers with a large library of Arabic content. Content is added to the online platform on a daily basis, with a large number of different shows, series and movies to be available by the end of the month.
The streaming platform has signed a content agreement with Starz Media Digital for popular series such as Black Sails (January 2014), The White Queen (August 2013), Magic City and Spartacus. All content is easily accessed by wide range of connected devices, including PCs, Macs, smart TVs, smart phones and tablets.
Icflix subscribers will also be able to watch content through Samsung’s complete range of connected devices including smartphones, computers, tablets and TVs.
Carlos Tibi, CEO of Icflix, commented on the soft launch saying, “It is interesting to see that many users from Western countries are subscribing with our services to mainly follow our Jazwood and Bollywood genre media, which is easy to access and watch through our platform. Our assumption is that these users are expats to whom, without our services, Jazwood and Bollywood media is not readily available.”
Icflix’s library offers a great selection for children. In terms of children’s content, there is an intensive variety of TV series and movies, such as Cinderella, Pocahontas and Robin Hood in Arabic, English and French. Popular educational children’s series, Caillou and Arthur, will also be provided on the platform, and all three shows will be dubbed in Arabic, English and French.
As Icflix prepares for its official launch, the company has drawn regional and international attention through the company’s participation in TVConnect Event and MIPCOM, speaking at both events. Icflix is also the platinum sponsor of My Content in the UAE.
