The journey of If the Sun Drowned into an Ocean of Clouds continues, having been featured at renowned festivals including Stockholm, Cork, Arab, Aix-en-Provence Tous Courts, Beirut Shorts, and Ciudades Reveladas – Muestra Internacional de Cine y Ciudad.
Set against the backdrop of a construction site on the Beirut waterfront, the film unfolds as a poetic narrative exploring unfulfilled dreams. It tells a universal tale of a man, Raed, a security guard tasked with preventing access to the shoreline amidst the construction. As the building obscures the horizon, Raed finds himself entangled in peculiar encounters, blurring the lines between reality and his desires.
Starring Raed Yassin, Rodrigue Sleiman, Said Serhan, and Hala Dabaji, and lensed by Martin Rit, the film was produced by Charlotte Vincent and Katia Khazak (Aurora Films), co-produced by Pierre Sarraf (Né à Beyrouth Films), with sound by Emmanuel Zouki, and music by The Incompetents. MAD Solutions is handling the film’s Arab World distribution and sales.
If the Sun Drowned into an Ocean of Clouds marks the third collaboration between Wissam Charaf and MAD Solutions.
