Image Nation Abu Dhabi has announced that principal photography has been completed on its legal drama series Qalb Al Adala (Justice).
Using a production team of more than 70 people from the region, filming took place in Abu Dhabi, featuring several well-known destinations including Yas Island, Sweihan, Al Reem Island, Al Gurm and Downtown Abu Dhabi, setting the backdrop for the series.
Alwiya Thani, Production Manager of Qalb Al Adala (Justice), said: Abu Dhabi provided some fantastic locations to shoot in, bringing an abundance of job opportunities to the region. We were ecstatic to welcome esteemed stars from the Middle East for starring roles throughout the episodes and we think the audience is going to have fun spotting their favourite places and actors on screen.
Open casting calls brought in more than 1000 extras for the series and a cast of over 150 speaking roles. Joining key cast members including Emirati actors Mansoor Alfeeli and Fatima Al Taei, were a host of Arabic stars who made guest appearances in the upcoming series including Emiratis Abdullah Al Junaibi and Saif Al Ghanem; Lebanese singer Nicole Saba and star of Lebanese soap opera Al Layla El Akhira Carlos Azar; plus Saudi actor Khaled Alburaiki.
The series follows the ups and downs of a passionate young Emirati lawyer (Fatima Al Taei) and her father (Mansoor Alfeeli), one of the regions top attorneys, as they deal with challenging legal cases while navigating personal and family dramas.
The legal drama is produced in association with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department who collaborated on the storylines and details to ensure authenticity.
Dr. Salah Al Junaibi, Director of Corporate Communication and International Cooperation at the Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi said: The main aim of our involvement in this landmark series is to achieve the highest level of effective communication with the community. With our supervision, we have helped to build storylines that will raise awareness of important issues for the UAE, which we hope will educate the public on how these cases are dealt with.
Image Nation has also enlisted a number of international heavyweights to collaborate on the series including long-time production partner Walter Parkes and Emmy-winning writer Billy Finkelstein (NYPD, Law & Order). MENA-based Beelink Productions is the series UAE production partner, with Marc Lorber as executive producer and up-and-coming filmmaker Ahmed Khaled Mousa is the director.
