Image Nation has announced the cast for its upcoming legal drama Justice (Qalb Al Adalah).
Emirati actors Fatima Al Taei, a star of Iftah Yah SimSim, and Mansoor Al Feeli (Zinzana) have been cast in the leading roles. They are joined by a host of actors from the region, including Emriati television star Abdualla Bin Haider, Syrian actress Neven Madi (Seashadow), Lebanese media personality Carlos Azar (Al Layla El Akhira), and Saudi star Khaled Al Buraiki (Nas w Nas).
The Arabic-language show follows a young Emirati lawyer embarking on a career as she struggles to step out of the shadows of her father, a top lawyer in the UAE. The show focuses on the young womans relationship with her family and the cases she takes on in court.
I am happy to be a part of this great production. My character Farah is an incredible character to play. She is a great role model and its fantastic to see strong female Emiratis depicted on television. said Fatima.
This show is testament to how far the UAE has come, not only in the media industry, but the country as a whole.
The series, comprising 20 one-hour episodes, has begun filming in Abu Dhabi, where production will continue until early next year. The legal drama is the biggest TV series ever set and filmed in the UAE and has created significant opportunities for the region, with more than 70 production crew members working on the project, 200 actors, and around 1000 extras.
Joining the key cast members are a series of all-star cameos, including Lebanese singing sensation Nicole Saba.
Alwiya Thani, an Emirati production manager for Image Nation, played an integral role in the casting of the show and has worked closely with the series since its inception.
Thani said: Image Nation strives to create content that is not only entertaining, but shines a light on the UAE itself and Justice is an example of this. The actors we have cast mirrors the UAEs diverse population, while the characters depict our strong Emirati culture. Were also pleased to be working with some talented actors from across the region.
Justice was developed by Image Nations long-term partner Walter Parkes and Emmy award-winning writer Billy Finkelstein (Law & Order, NYPD Blue). Up-and-coming filmmaker Ahmed Khaled is directing, with MENA-based Beelink Productions managing the shows production. Emmy-nominated Executive Producer Marc Lorber (Beyond Borders) is overseeing the project for Image Nation.
Image Nation have also partnered with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department on the show to ensure the court drama remains authentic.
Michael Garin, CEO of Image Nation, said: Our main aim at Image Nation is to help create a self-sustaining film and television industry in the region. Long term productions like Justice provide a plethora of job opportunities for talented people across the Middle East and continue to help boost the industry.
As filming continues, a casting call remains open for smaller and extra roles for the legal drama.
