Image Nation has announced the expansion of its training and development activities for 2016 with a brand new scriptwriting competition.
In partnership with the Dubai Film Market (DFM), the industry arm of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Image Nations long-standing Arab Film Studio (AFS) programme will launch AFS Scriptwriting in February and is accepting applications now.
Alicia Gonzalez, Head of Training and Development at Image Nation, said: Following the success of our Arab Film Studio programmes we are excited to launch AFS Scriptwriting in partnership with DFM. DFM has long supported Arab filmmakers and alongside Image Nation is committed to finding and developing local talent.
It will be a five-month long learning programme, which will include a three-week intensive workshop focusing on all aspects of scriptwriting from story concept to character development. This will be followed by a three-month assignment, where participants will be asked to conceive a short film screenplay using their new found skills.
The winner of this years programme will secure funding of USD27,226, awarded by Image Nation and the Dubai Film Market.
